Yangtze River Cultural and Artistic Season concludes in Yichang

The closing ceremony of the Yangtze River Cultural and Artistic Season was held in Yichang City on November 4. The inaugural season began on September 14 in Wuhan, gathering together more than 3,000 artists from different cities along the Yangtze River.

The ceremony featured several highlights from the art season events. Toward the end, a large-scale three-chapter symphonic performance was presented, combining a symphony with various art forms, including poetry, acrobatics, piano, song, dance, and folk music. AI, AR and other new technologies were used to showcase the Yangtze River region’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and distinctive urban appeal.

The program featured original poetry and musical works performed by renowned artists, highlighting the unique cultural elements from cities along the river.

The inaugural art season consisted of 10 programs including academic seminars, themed art exhibitions, and a film week.

By hosting the closing ceremony, Yichang became the only city other than Wuhan to host programs during the art season. Known as a regional hub city in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Yichang is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Three Gorges" and "Sichuan-Hubei Gullet."
