The large-scale tourism festival is jointly organized by the Hubei Province and Chongqing Municipality. Held for 13 years alternating between the two locations, it has become a staple in China’s tourism industry.
This year's event will feature 18 activities across seven categories, including the opening ceremony, cultural tourism, economy and trade as well as tourism promotion. Additionally, Zhaojun Culture and Tourism Festival, Dangyang Guan Gong Culture and Tourism Festival, Qing River Open Water Swimming Event, and the 9th Yangtze River Piano Music Festival will all be held during the festival.
The opening ceremony will be held at 7:30 pm on September 16 at the Lighthouse Square. It will be immediately followed by a large-scale music, dance, poetry and painting cultural performance with the Yangtze River as the theme.
