In 2014, Yichang City was named the country’s first “Piano City” by the China Musicians Association. It is also home to Parsons Music, maker of the Yangtze River Piano. The brand was the first in China to become the official competition piano in the International Tchaikovsky Competition, making its debut in 2019.
