Wang Zhaojun, an important figure showcasing the history of Yichang, was portrayed during the ceremony. Wang Zhaojun was played by Beijing Opera and Dance Theatre's lead actress Luo Wenbo who has performed on the Spring Festival Gala stage three times.
In the opening ceremony, she performed a gentle and dynamic dance, showing the beauty, dignity and charm of Zhaojun.
Wang Zhaojun (born c. 50 BC) was one of the “Four Beauties” of ancient China. She was born in Zigui County of current Yichang City in the Western Han dynasty (206 B.C. - 8 A.D.). She was most famous for her beauty, along with her musical and dancing talent.
