The black stork

The black stork is a species of large wader. It has red legs, a long sharp beak, black feathers and a pure white abdomen. It breeds in northern China in the summer and in autumn migrates to the south of the Yangtze River to spend the winter months. There are about 1,000 black storks in China. In February 2021, it was listed as a national first-class protected wild animal.
