Sanxia Airport surpasses 3 mln passengers in 2024

Yichang Sanxia International Airport is set to carry 3 million passengers by December 20, 2024. The airport has already managed over 26,300 takeoffs and landings and is expected to handle 3.05 million passengers for the full year, surpassing last year’s traffic.
In 2024, Sanxia Airport concentrated on expanding routes, enhancing services, increasing flights to key cities, and adding tourism routes. Throughout the year, 21 airlines operated at the airport, managing 53 passenger routes and one cargo route. This connected travelers to 54 domestic and international destinations, including one for cargo flights.
In 2024, Sanxia Airport served over 100,000 international passengers for the first time, becoming Hubei's second airport to achieve this milestone after Wuhan Tianhe Airport. Following the resumption of its first international route to Bangkok in 2023, the airport expanded its offerings with additional flights to foreign cities, including Ho Chi Minh, Incheon, and Hanoi.
