The winter fishing season got off to a splashy start at Shengping Reservoir in Zigui County, Yichang City, with local fishermen crossing their fingers for a good catch.
The 84-hectare Shengping Reservoir is located in Moping Township of Zigui County. Its rich fish stocks include bighead carp, silver carp, and grass carp. More than 50,000 kilograms of mature fish are harvested each year, with a total output value of nearly 500,000 yuan (US$75,000).
