Yichang City is becoming greener. The city, known as the "Gateway to the Three Gorges,” understands the importance of environmental protection and does not want to over-exploit its natural resources. Wharves along the Yangtze River shoreline are being shut down and infrastructure upgraded as the area gives itself a “green makeover”.
