Celebrating Arbor Day on March 12

Arbor Day (or Tree Planting Day), celebrated on March 12 in China, encourages tree planting. The day was established in 1915 by forestry scientist Ling Daoyang and, from 1929, dedicated to honoring Sun Yat-sen for his contributions to forestry. Trees, our silent allies, absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen, clean the air, cool cities, and provide food and wood, making them vital to the ecosystem.
