The black-winged stilt

The black-winged stilt is a slender, striking-looking black-and-white wader. It has a black beak, black wings and pure white stomach, not to mention long red legs, and is sometimes jokingly referred to as the “supermodel of the bird world”. It breeds in northern China in spring and migrates to southern China for the winter months. In China, it is a protected wild bird.
