Dianjun Avenue: past and present

Upper pic: This is the original Dianjun Avenue shortly after construction began. Dianjun Avenue is Yichang's first urban expressway, spanning 14.113 kilometers from the Zhixi Yangtze River Bridge in the east to the Fanba Expressway in the west. Construction started in September 2013 and was completed in three phases.
Lower pic: The same location in 2024. The concrete road has been transformed into a wide, smooth asphalt road. Dianjun Avenue opened to traffic in January 2020 and is now connected to several major traffic arteries, including the Zhixi Yangtze River Bridge and Xiling Second Road Expressway. This connection has significantly reduced travel time between Yichang’s northern urban area and its southern urban area, as well as surrounding counties.
