On January 13, many winter swimming enthusiasts took to the upstream waters of the Three Gorges Dam in Zigui County.
Once the Three Gorges Reservoir completed its routine water storage in late October, water levels reached 175 meters and its surface widened, making the waters along the river a prime destination for swimmers.
