The newly opened "1980s museum" in Caobuhu Town has become a magnet for visitors – from both Yichang and other cities. So far, more than 5,000 tourists from outside of Yichang have visited this place. The Juzhang Supply and Marketing Cooperative spans over 300 square meters. Inside, old items like sewing machines, kerosene lamps, and looms evoke the nostalgic childhood memories of the 80s generation.
In the 1950s, young individuals from 22 provinces across China came here and established the only state-run farm in Yichang. Recently, the third-generation of the farmers converted the old buildings into six cultural and creative spaces dedicated to baking, ceramics, tea rooms, and yoga. They have not only preserved the memories of this farm but also have transformed the space into a preferred destination for today's youth.
