Yichang celebrates Harvest Festival

Farmers from around Wangjialing Village gathered on Wednesday to celebrate Harvest Festival 2023, with a display of farm produce, and competitions including orange-eating and a tug-of-war.
Yichang holds events each year to mark the Harvest Festival – a day set aside in the Chinese calendar to honor farmers’ contributions to the country. Since citrus farming is the major source of revenue in this area, this year’s festival, the fifth edition, featured an orange-eating competition. One of the villages taking part was Dengjiapo Village, which was one of the first to see its annual income reach 100 million yuan, back in 2018.
