Baiyang Port breaks cargo records in August

Yichang's Baiyang Port is the first of three new key ports to be built around the Three Gorges Dam. The other two being Maoping Port and Taipingxi Port.
In August, Baiyang Port's bulk cargo throughput reached a record high of 230,000 tonnes, surpassing 200,000 tonnes in a single month for the first time. This was due to the increase in cargo throughput including grain, chemicals, ores, and building materials.
The port plans to build 24 berths, with a designed annual throughput capacity of 25 million tonnes and 1 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
