Vegetable farmers in Zigui profit from mountain climate

Farmers are harvesting vegetables in Yuntaihuang Village, Zigui County, Yichang City. In summer, villagers take advantage of their mountain climate to grow 3,500 mu (233 hectares) of cool-weather crops such as Chinese cabbage, green cabbage and radish, which are eagerly snapped up by low-altitude urban markets. The village can earn an annual income of 25 million yuan (US$3.4 million).
