Juanqiaohe Wetland Park is a popular leisure spot in #Yichang city. Covering around 180 hectares, it opened to the public in October 2022.
In recent years, the protection and restoration of the Yangtze River have become a top priority for Yichang. Strict controls have been implemented on agricultural and commercial development in wetland areas. Nearly 60 percent of all wetlands have been protected.
The total area of wetlands in Yichang is 82,400 hectares., including eight national wetland parks: Yidu Tianlongwan, Dangyang Qinglonghu, Changyang Qingjiang, Zhijiang Jinhu, Wufeng Baixi River, Yiling Quanyitang, Zigui Jiuwanxi and Yuan'an Juhe, which is a wetland of national importance. #wetland
