New record: 800,000 Yangtze sturgeon bred in 2023

China Three Gorges Corporation has bred 800,000 Yangtze sturgeon in 2023, a new record since artificial breeding began in April 2019.
Swarms of Yangtze River sturgeon fry are ready for release at the Yangtze River Rare Fish Breeding Base, located on the right bank of the Three Gorges Dam.
Of the sturgeon fry bred this year, half a million will be released into the Yangtze River on June 6, National Fish Release Day.
