Let the world hear Dangyang
Dangyang is a city in the Yichang region of western Hubei province, situated between the mountains and Jianghan Plain.
As one of the birthplaces of Chu culture, Dangyang has both an historical and religious significance. The name Dangyang appears 57 times in the novel “Three Kingdoms,” one of the four classics novels of Chinese literature. It was once the site of many battles between AD 220 and 280, and is home to Yuquan Temple, one of the earliest and most well-known Buddhist temples in China.
To the northeast of Yuquan is Guanling Temple, which was built in memory of Guan Yu (221 -263 AD), a famous general of the Kingdom of Shu.
Dangyang is a booming county-level city with a population of 417,500. Its GDP of about 57 billion yuan ($8.2 billion) is based mainly on the production and development of food, building materials, textiles and chemicals.
