More than 1.3 hectares of purple and gold snapdragon flowers are in bloom in Dianjun District, Yichang City, attracting sightseers.

The area used to be the site of the Tiantian Chemical Plant. In 2017, having decided to upgrade its chemical industry and cut pollution, the Yichang government began shutting down, relocating or renovating 134 chemical companies.

Tiantian Chemical, located in Aijia Town just 100 meters from the river's south bank, was the first plant to be closed.

At the end of 2022, a 30 million yuan (US$4.4 million) project was launched to transform the former chemical plant site into parkland. The first phase – covering 6.7 hectares – has involved planting snapdragon and calliopsis flowers.
