A significant colony of pale sand martins has been discovered nesting at a construction site in Yichang's Xiaoting District. The birds havechosen the site's soft, sandy cliffs to raise their young. Known for their pest control abilities, pale sand martins can consume 500 to 800 mosquitoes and flies daily. These birds are nationally protected due to their ecological, scientific, and social importance.
