‘Zhaojun’ returns to her hometown

On December 6 and 7, the Hohhot Opera and Dance Theater performed the dance drama “Zhaojun” at Yichang Theater. The production began in Alxa League, Inner Mongolia, traveled through Shangluo City in Shaanxi Province, and concluded in Yichang, the hometown of Wang Zhaojun. It guided audiences along the path Zhaojun once took.
Wang Zhaojun, one of the “Four Beauties” of ancient China, was born in present-day Yichang City during the Western Han dynasty (206 B.C.-8 A.D.). She is renowned for her musical and dancing talents, as well as her role in promoting national unity.
