Rolling and Thriving Black Bear in Yichang's Houhe Reserve

Infrared cameras have captured an adult male black bear rolling around in Yichang's Houhe National Nature Reserve. Despite hibernating during the winter, the bear appears to be in excellent health and has maintained its plump physique.

In recent years, the reserve has conducted surveys and installed "camera traps" to monitor the population size, movements, and dynamics of the black bears. The most recent monitoring results show a steady and promising increase in the number of black bears in the reserve.
