Opposite Sanyou Cave, a historic cultural scenic spot, is a new dining experience in Yichang. Located on the side of a cliff at the mouth of Xiling Gorge, is Fangweng Restaurant. Situated high above the ground, the Xialaoxi River, a tributary of the Yangtze, can be seen flowing underneath.

Ancient Chinese poet Lu You (1125-1210) used to make a fragrant tea from the spring here when he would travel to Yichang. Lu was also known as Fangweng, hence the restaurant’s name.

The unique location and natural decor is sure to leave a deep impression on you.

In addition to the view, the food at Fangweng does not disappoint. Yichang fatty fish among other original dishes are popular here.
