Infrared camera captures muntjacs fighting in Dalaoling National Reserve

Infrared cameras recently caught two muntjacs fighting in the Dalaoling National Nature Reserve. The two deer use their horns to assert themselves until the defeated  runs away. At the end of the video, the winner is seen licking his eyes with his tongue.

The male muntjac’s forked horns are shed once a year. Their long tongue allows them to easily reach their eyes.
