The reservoir area of the Three Gorges Project expands each autumn as the water level rises.
On a beautiful sunny day, people are out strolling and chatting, many with children in tow, or simply sitting on the riverside enjoying the warm sunshine. The more adventurous are in swimming – dogs too – or doing stand-up paddle.
