Vine bracelets have been treasured accessories for Chinese women since ancient times. They first appeared during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). During the Qing Dynasty (1636–1911), vine bracelets were often part of women's dowry when they married. Later gold and silver-inlaid vine bracelets became popular. The famous writer Zhang Aiming was particularly fond of vine bracelets, mentioning them many times in her literary works.

Yidu's silver-inlaid vine bracelet is made by twisting single or multiple strands of ivy branches into a circular shape and then braising them over a fire to fix their shape. Only master craftsmen with years of experience can achieve top quality by carefully controlling the braising process.
