Zigui Yanglin Tanggu culture in Yichang has been inherited for 630 years. In the old days of Yanglin in Zigui County, drums were used to celebrate marriages and harvests.
The drum beats have a lively rhythm, matching the rich sound of the suona. The various expressions of the performers as they beat the drums creates an enjoyable atmosphere.
The main instruments used in the show are both large and small sizes of drums and gongs, small cymbals, suonas and trombones.
On June 7, 2008, the Gong and Drum Arts of Yichang was included in the second batch of the national intangible cultural heritage list. Yanglin Tanggu is an important part of Yichang Gong and Drum Arts.
