If you come early to Zhimao Road early enough on a summer morning - altitude 1,100 meters - you will feel like you're in a sea of clouds, with the mist swirling around you.
Located in Yichang's Zigui County, zigzagging Zhimao Road connects Jiuwanxi Town with the more populous part of the county.
This 57km road takes you to several famous places, including the Three Gorges Dam, Qu Yuan's hometown, the Three Gorges Bamboo Sea, Zhilan Valley, Jiuwanxi rafting center and the Three Gorges Indigenous Scenic Area.
