Chaotianhou Rafting Scenic Spot, an “AAAA-level National Tourist Attraction”, is located in Xingshan County, about 100 kilometers from urban Yichang. The rafting course is 6.5 kilometers long, with a total drop of over 100 meters.
Choutianhou means “roar towards the sky”, a good name for this rugged spot.
Chaotianhou’s "Double River Drifting Channel" has two rivers - the Kongzi River and the Xiayang River - open to rafting. As you travel down the course, you will see many strangely shaped stones or peaks, such as Peacock Ridge and Camel Peak. The highlight of the adventure lies in a breathtaking waterfall at the end – don’t panic, you don’t go over it, you just pass by it.
Chaotianhou receives 450,000 visitors per year and has been the most popular rafting venue in Hubei province for several years.
