On the morning of May 12, the Three Gorges Dam welcomed its 1 millionth visitor for the year, Mr. Jin from Zhejiang Province.

At the Three Gorges Project Museum, he was presented with an "Unlimited Access Card" for free lifetime access to the Three Gorges Dam Tourism Area together with a Chinese sturgeon souvenir papercut. The museum also gave him a concrete core sample from the Three Gorges Dam.

"I am honored to be the 1 millionth visitor to the Three Gorges Dam Tourist Area in 2023. Such a spectacular place! I will bring more friends when I come back," said Mr. Jin.

With the pandemic over, the number of visitors to the Three Gorges Dam Tourist Area has climbed rapidly this year. On average, the Three Gorges Dam has seen 10,000 visitors through the turnstiles each day since mid-March, a record high for the period.

The Three Gorges Project Museum, which opened in August 2022, is the world's largest hydropower themed museum. Visitors can visit the museum for free after purchasing tickets to the Three Gorges Dam Tourist Area.
