"Aerial View of Yichang" competition winners on display

Results from the 2023 "Aerial View of Yichang" photography competition have been announced. Select pictures and videos from this competition are on display during Yichang City Brand Week and digitally across major media platforms from today until May 14.
The jury made a comprehensive evaluation of the entries taking into account various aspects such as theme, composition, color and creativity. One grand prize, one first prize and two second prizes were selected in the video and picture categories, three third prizes in the video category, eight third prizes in the picture category and several additional excellent prizes.
Among them, Song Xinhua's "Flying View of Yichang" won the Grand Prize in the video category, and Zhang Yong's "The Beauty of Yichang" (a photography series) took home the Grand Prize in the picture category.

The aerial photography competition was launched on March 26 in Yichang City, Hubei Province, and lasted a total of five days. Over 20 contestants from central and provincial-level media across China worked to capture stunning views of the city during their visit to historical sites and popular scenic areas.
First prize in the photo category: "Panorama of Yichang" by Zhao Ming
Second Prize in the photo category: "The Multifaceted Yichang" by Cao Zheng
Third prize in the photo category: "Impression of Yichang" by Liu Zhankun
Excellent Prize in the photo category: "The joy of harvest" by Liu Tianshu
Excellent Prize in the photo category: "Releasing Chinese sturgeon" by Wang Huoyan
Beautiful scenery and human customs of Yichang were recorded through the lenses of participants, helping to show the economic development, urban development and ecological protection achievements along the Yangtze River in Yichang.
In this competition, photographers recorded Yichang and promoted Yichang with a new perspective using aerial photography which helped to better promote its culture and tourism opportunities to the world as well as spread the city’s brand.
