China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has designated a framework of “10 National Select Yangtze River Tourist Routes,” which covers the “Yangtze River International Golden Tourism Belt” formed by 11 provinces, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou.

Themes within the framework include the Yangtze River Civilization Tracing Tour, Yangtze River World Heritage Tour and Yangtze River Natural Ecology Tour, which are all designed to help foreigners learn more about Yangtze River culture.

Under the framework, 38 provincial-level Yangtze River themed routes have been designed and published in the "Boutique Route Book of the Yangtze River International Golden Tourism Belt.”

The book contains travel information such as route planning, road conditions information, notable scenic spots along the way and travel tips.

The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is one of the earliest tourist routes in China introduced to the international market. Yichang is a shining "pearl" on this route, whose Three Gorges Dam, Gezhouba Dam and Xiling Gorge cruise all have their own unique appeal to foreign travelers.

Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador of Thailand to China, addresses the launch ceremony of the Yangtze River Overseas Tourism Promotion Season 2023.

“It is particularly fitting that this event is held in Yichang City, Gateway to the Three Gorges, the world’s largest hydroelectric gravity dam power station," said Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador of Thailand to China.

Overseas tourism promotion activity "Hello China" will be held in Paris, France and Tokyo, Japan. During the overseas promotion campaign, about 600 digital products will be launched globally, such as the National Select Yangtze River Tourist Routes, Global Exhibition of Yangtze River Themed Videos, Discover the Beauty of China's Yangtze River Thematic Exhibition and Most Beautiful Yangtze River Cultural Tourism Resources Exhibition.

The promotional campaign was organized by the Network of International Culturalink Entities and 10 provincial culture and tourism bureaus, including Shanghai, Chongqing, Jiangsu and Hubei. It will run through the months of May and June.
