The first all-electric ship in the world, the vessel has a high-voltage charging system and a low-voltage power supplement. It can carry more than 1,300 passengers.

Unlike traditional vessels, Changjiang SanXia 1 uses clean hydropower energy and can sail more than 100 kilometers on a single charge, saving over 500 tons of fuel oil and eliminating more than 1,600 tons of harmful gas emissions each year.

Built largely by Yichang research institutes and enterprises, the ship has been in service since March 29, 2022.
