Yichang releases policies to attract innovative talents

The latest talent policies released on March 29 focus on attracting the top innovative talents and new generation of people entering the workforce to take root in Yichang.

 

Yichang will subsidize up to 1 million yuan (US $145,394) for the first contract provided by local enterprises for top innovative talents. Additionally, they will set up a "one-to-one" service team to provide assistance for the recipients. Regular visits and services will be carried out by utilizing resources across various leaders and departments. 

 

Yichang will also encourage the talents to strive for national major science and technology special projects by providing subsidies of up to 10 percent of the project funds.

 

Yichang's high-tech industries primarily consist of manufacturing, automation, new materials, the digital economy, clean energy, biology, and new medicine. 

 

In 2022, the number of patents granted to high-tech enterprises in Yichang reached 5386, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent, including 778 invention patents, an increase of 27 percent; the total business income of high-tech enterprises exceeded 300 billion yuan, of which the sales income of high-tech products exceeded 200 billion yuan, accounting for 66 percent of total business income.
