Wang has been long interested in the nature and characteristics of birds. He was inspired to start a birdwatching tour in 2014 when his camera accidentally captured the image of a white-winged redstart and he was shocked by its exquisite body.
Wang has found in recent years that the freshwater ecosystem in the Yichang section of the Yangtze River has improved and the number of bird species living there has increased, suggesting that the efforts to restore the Yangtze's ecological systems are paying off.
