Wounds on trees become canvasses for cartoon paintings

Wounds on trees on some of the main roads of Xiling District in Yichang City have become canvasses featuring colorful animal cartoon paintings, attracting passersby.

 

The small cartoon characters are painted onto the cement poured into the trunk wounds to prevent corrosion due to weather, natural strains and insect damage.

 

In February, the local government hired professional painters to draw cartoon animal characters on the cement waterproof layer, using acrylic paint, a non-toxic and harmless material commonly used in home decoration and wall painting.
