Brothers reunite after 15-year separation

Yichang’s Aid Management Station helped Zeng Xiangjun reunite with his younger brother Zeng Xiangyong after 15 years of separation.
On February 11, 2023 Zeng Xiangyong excitedly reported to his family via video call that the brothers had reunited after hugging each other in tears at Yichang’s Aid Management Station.
In 2008, 18-year-old Zeng Xiangjun had gone missing on his way home after visiting relatives. The family was unable to find him until recently when he was rescued by Yichang’s Aid Management Station in December 2022.
“We tried to speak with him, but he was mute and we were unable to get his name or address,” said the station personnel. Later, the station personnel uploaded Zeng Xiangjun’s photo and information to the online people search platform.
A comparison of portraits showed some similarities between the lost man's appearance and a man called Zeng Xiangyong from Wengyuan County in Guangdong Province. Yichang’s Aid Management Station consequently made contact with Zeng Xiangyong's family through a network comparison and requested a video for confirmation. Zeng Xiangyong instantly recognized his elder brother and confirmed Zeng Xiangjun’s identity thanks to the scar on the back of his left foot.
On the evening of 11 February 2023, Zeng Xiangyong arrived at Yichang’s Aid Management Station after a 950-kilometre journey from Wengyuan, Guangdong Province.
“He's my brother,” said the younger brother in tears, "I never thought I'd see my brother again."
With the help of Yichang’s Aid Management Station, Zeng Xiangjun finally returned to his hometown and reunited with his family.
