Yichang uses robots to build apartments

Yichang City Development Group kicked off a new government-subsidized apartment building project on February 8 dubbed “Robot + Prefabricated”. The new project, which integrates robots into the building process, is a first for Hubei.

The Yichang Business School Youth Housing Project, managed by real estate specialist Country Garden Property Development, is located in Xiling District. The total construction area is about 42,000 square meters.

The housing project will have 560 government-subsidized rental apartments no larger than 70 square meters and 264 parking spaces.

What sets this project apart is the fact that it will be built by "robots” supported by computer-aided systems, using new technologies, prefabricated building units and high-rise climbing formwork.
