Good Samaritans save trapped driver from death

On the morning of January 28, 2023, a group of local Good Samaritans rescued a driver trapped in his car after an accident occurring in Yichang’s Xiaoting District. Just one minute after he was pulled to safety, the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

 

At 7:46 a.m., a white sedan, driven by a male in his 30’s, crashed into a roadside guardrail on the expressway, sending debris into the sky, creating a scene of smoke and flames. A passing policeman and nearby drivers voluntarily rushed to the car to help the man who was trapped due to the deformation of his car door.

At 7:47 a.m., they worked together and pried open the door allowing them to get the driver to safety. 

 

At 7:48 a.m., "boom"! Along with a loud explosion from the engine, fire engulfed the car. 

 

The traffic police and fire brigade arrived on the scene shortly, put out the fire and helped to resume normal traffic. Fortunately, the driver only suffered light injuries and there were no other casualties.
