Yichang to start 243 projects in 1st quarter of 2023

Yichang city announced on January 31 that as many as 243 major projects will start operation in the first quarter of 2023, with a total investment of 176.1 billion yuan (US$ 26.1 billion).
 
The average investment on each project is roughly 720 million yuan. Two projects have reached over 10 billion yuan, with a total investment of 28.5 billion yuan. Over 70% of the projects attract investments over 1 billion yuan. 
 
Yichang ranks among the top in Hubei province in terms of total number and total investments of projects, both up 20% compared to the same period in 2022.
 
The categories of projects include industrial, significant infrastructure, ecological protection and livelihood improvement. 
 
On the business side of things the categories include industrial projects like Tongling Chemical new energy, infrastructure projects like node interworking of the Yangtze River Highway Bridge, and ecological livelihood projects like the Qing River restoration project.
 
Among them, projects were implemented in three kinds of counties. This includes 148 projects in first-class counties, with a total investment of 126.3 billion yuan. The second-class counties make up 54, with a total investment of 27.2 billion yuan. And 41 are in third-class counties, with a total investment of 22.6 billion yuan.
