The tourist area of the Three Gorges Dam, one of Yichang’s most famous attractions, received more than 15,000 people per day, more than 70 percent of whom were from other provinces. Both figures were close to the same period in 2019, proof of a healthy recovery.
The 2023 Yichang Spring Festival Lantern Show, hosted by the City’s Culture and Tourism Bureau, was a popular spot during the Chinese New Year with 275,000 visitors.
Yichang’s four ski resorts are all open. All 150 hotel rooms at Wufeng International Ski Resort were fully booked throughout the Spring Festival period. More than 70 ski instructors were on duty at Bailihuang Ski Resort during the break, but struggled to meet the demand.
