Yichang has updated one of its intercity bus routes with 18 electric buses. Passengers can take the city’s first electric intercity bus route from Yichang to Yidu, a county-level city of Yichang.
All 18 electric buses are equipped with CATL batteries and permanent magnetic synchronous machines. Each bus has a 39-seat capacity with adequate power, minimal noise, higher safety, and no carbon emissions. This update of electric buses will work to reduce carbon emissions by 900 tons per year.
These buses feature a driver fatigue monitor system, a video surveillance system, and a seat belt alarm function. Along with the cozy seating and noise-free travel, the bus will also offer USB charging spots, air conditioners, and an LCD screen for the passengers.
Carrying up to 255 kWh of battery capacity, it will take five hours to fully charge the battery. The buses are capable of traveling the route six times on a single charge. Yichang and Yidu passenger stations are fully equipped with the proper charging infrastructure.
The intercity bus route between Yichang and Yidu was opened in 2014, providing travel services for a total of 6 million passengers in the past 8 years.
