Yichang singing show wins national award

A Yichang singing show, “Flowers Blooming on the Balcony” on September 15 won the music category award during the 13th China Art Festival. The performance, which was submitted by Yiling Culture and Tourism Bureau, carried off the only music award for Hubei Province. The China Art Festival was held in Xiong’an New Area in Hebei Province.

The music category award, which is called the Qunxing Award, is a national culture and art government award granted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to promote literary and artistic creations among ordinary people. Only two performances from the whole of Hubei Province -- "Flowers Blooming on the Balcony" in the music category and "The Return of the Crane" in the folk-art category -- were submitted to compete for this year's Qunxing Award.
