On March 17, more than 500 workers at Brunp Times' 450,000-ton lithium iron phosphate (LFP) project in Yichang High-Tech Zone were busy using advanced piling technology to ensure structural safety.

Covering 500 acres, the project will establish China’s largest lithium iron phosphate (LFP) workshop by capacity, featuring three facilities that will produce 450,000 tons annually using advanced fourth-generation LFP technology. This new LFP enhances compaction density, improving battery charging speed and range to meet market demands.
Backed by a ¥5 billion investment, Brunp Times' 450,000-ton LFP project began construction in February and is expected to be completed by December, targeting a one-year timeline.
The project represents a significant expansion of Brunp’s investment in Yichang’s new energy battery industry. Brunp, a subsidiary of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL), China’s largest automotive lithium-ion battery maker, initially launched the CATL-BRUNP Integrated New Energy Industry Project in Yichang in 2021. This latest initiative further strengthens the company’s commitment to building a comprehensive new energy battery supply chain in the region.
This development coincides with rapid growth in China's new energy battery industry. In February, production reached 100.3 GWh, a 128.2% year-on-year increase, with LFP batteries accounting for over 80% of the output.
