Spring is a time of renewal but also a season when various diseases can flare up. A press conference titled "Solar Terms and Health" was held on March 19, the day before the Spring Equinox.
Organized by the Yichang Health Commission, the event is part of a city-wide initiative to combat chronic diseases through preventive, seasonally tailored healthcare education. Experts answered questions on disease prevention and promoted health knowledge.
The health commission also hosted an "Apricot Grove Garden Fair," centered around Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Named after the traditional symbol of TCM, the event featured various activities, including herbal medicine riddles, arrow-throwing challenges, and TCM-inspired food and tea tastings. Yichang is actively integrating TCM healthcare into daily life through innovative and engaging methods.
“By merging tradition with innovation, we’re making TCM accessible and engaging,” said Liu Yougkun, the commission's spokesperson, highlighting Yichang’s vision to become a national model for cultural and health innovation. From gamified learning to TCM food and beverages, the event demonstrates that ancient wisdom can thrive alongside modern life.
