Yichang animator contributes to Ne Zha 2

The animated film Ne Zha: Demon Child Conquers the Sea, or Ne Zha 2, has shattered box-office records since its release on January 29, 2025.
Fu Tingting, a native of Yichang, and her team contributed 15 minutes to the film, crafting visually stunning sequences through simulation effects, lighting, rendering, and compositing.

Fu Tingting, a native of Yichang, and her team contributed 15 minutes to the film, crafting visually stunning sequences through simulation effects, lighting, rendering, and compositing.

"It took our team two years to perfect those 15 minutes," said Fu. "When I saw my name in the credits, the sense of satisfaction and gain was beyond words."
Fu's journey into animation began in her hometown of Zhijiang, where her passion for drawing led her to pursue a career in art. After graduating from Zhijiang No. 2 High School, she enrolled in the animation department at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts.
Though she briefly left the industry for two years to explore other professions, Fu eventually returned to her passion. In 2019, she and her husband, Li Hua, founded Wuhan Yiding Digital Technology Co., Ltd.
In 2021, her company collaborated with Chengdu Kekedou Animation Film on a CG short film. Impressed by their work in lighting, rendering, and compositing, Kekedou Animation invited them to join the production of Ne Zha 2 in late 2022. "When we got the call, we were thrilled and couldn't wait tostart," Fu said.
Since its release, Ne Zha 2 has received widespread acclaim, further solidifying Fu's belief in the future of the animation industry. "I am so grateful to have stayed in this field. Being a part of Ne Zha 2 has boosted my confidence," she said.
The film also resonated with Fu personally. In an emotional moment, Ao Guang tells his son Ao Bing to "have the courage to follow your heart." Fu found this line deeply moving and reflective of her own journey.
"I feel that my perseverance has paid off. The animation industry is full of possibilities. As long as you have dreams and never give up, you'll achieve great results, even if it takes time," Fu said.
