At the GAC Yichang plant, robotic arms are efficiently assembling new cars.

Since the eighth day of the Chinese New Year, the factory has rapidly increased its output to nearly 500 units per day. In January, it produced over 7,000 vehicles, and February’s production is expected to exceed 8,000.

The GS3 EMZOOM SUV, launched in 2023, has gained popularity among young consumers and become central to GAC Motor's international growth, with the company establishing its first overseas KD factory in Malaysia last year, sourcing parts from the Yichang plant.

The Yichang factory can now manufacture GAC Motor’s entire range of vehicles, including the GA6, GS4, EMPOW, and EMZOOM. Last year, it produced and sold 120,000 units, marking a growth of over 10% from the previous year.

Following its parent company’s acquisition of the qualification to produce new energy vehicles in 2024, the Yichang plant is set to ramp up production to include new energy models, targeting an overall output of 200,000 units.
