After this year's eight-day Spring Festival holiday, the demand for workers has rebounded.
A survey conducted by Yichang's Human Resources and Social Security Bureau revealed that 299,000 residents work outside of the city, with 19,000 of them expressing interesting in finding employment or starting a business in Yichang.
In response, the Yichang government organized the fair to support returnees and recent university graduates. They invited local employers to have face-to-face conversations and engage directly with job seekers.
Eighty-four companies, including Yichang Brunp, Changjiang Machine Technology, and Yichang Xin Ding Group, offered 5,126 job opportunities across various sectors including manufacturing, welding, sales, tourism and design.

“I’ve worked in Shanghai and Wuhan for five years. Coming back this time I found that Yichang has a good environment for start-up companies and offers some favorable policies, so I decided to start my own business back in my hometown,” said Wang Yin, a visitor at the fair.
Since the launch of the 2025 Spring Employment Action initiative in January, 128 job fairs have been held online and offline. More job fairs will continue through the end of March.
