Hubei Province is actively advancing its low-altitude economy, designating Wuhan as the core city and Yichang as a key player. In Yichang, drones are utilized for various purposes, including transporting oranges, supervising fisheries, and conducting medical rescues. The city is home to institutions such as China Three Gorges University and Three Gorges Aviation College.
Yichang currently has 19 drone docking stations, covering 1,200 square kilometers of low-altitude airspace in the city center. The city has also initiated its first drone operation management platform, which is expected to expand by 2025 to include 113 intelligent docking stations across all counties and towns, creating a comprehensive city-wide low-altitude remote sensing monitoring network.
